I, too, have a Brother HL-5250DN. Running:

Scenario I: A fresh install of Ubuntu.
Go to "System > Administration > Language Support".

them using adept-installer. Plasmoid packages should have .desktop files
in /usr/share/applications so that they will be included in app-install-

I booted in "Install" mode with debug-ubiquity as the last option using
today's daily-live. Today's daily is slightly different from the Beta
(even without the debug option) in that there's no ubiquity window --
just a blank, black screen with an X shaped mouse pointer.

Thank you, Till. I tested the debdiff you posted in bug #286048, and it
fixes the issue with lpr getting the copy number wrong. Duplex and copy
number in KDE application (I retested with Okular) are still broken. I
still think this bug ought to be fixed before Kubuntu 8.10 is released.

Ditto with my Thinkpad T61 in Kubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) Beta, the
x86_64 version. I didn't have this problem in 7.10 or 8.04. Does this
