sudo apt-get install laptop-mode-tools just sat and waited trying to start
laptop-mode-tools. Found this in /var/log/syslog:
May 2 08:31:46 tiso laptop-mode: Warning: Configuration file
/etc/laptop-mode/conf.d/board-specific/*.conf is not readable, skipping.

The instructions from #3 still work for me with 2.6.32-34-server, I just
upgraded a server with 3w-sas and dkms yesterday.
