The first error you got shows that octave could not find the function.
Could the second be unrelated- the function runs, but provides a more
helpful error message- I would think the first error is an ubuntu
package problem, the second perhaps something particular to that
function or image?

I tried to install 2006.07.09+dfsg1-5 today, it didn't work in quite the

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: rhythmbox
I get this error message, even though there is a valid, blank CD in the
burner drive:
Please replace the disc in the drive with a rewritable or blank CD.

Quick update: Having read the earlier comments, I checked which theme I
was using and it was also the 'Crux' theme as previously mentioned.
Just out of curiosity, I switched back to the default 'Human' theme and
the bug instantly went away and format > page worked perfectly.

page size parameters for a formal submission and this is very
frustrating. I hope this gets resolved soon!

I've experienced what looks like a very similar problem.
I'm using k9copy as a front end for dvdauthor. I've noticed this only
happens when backing up certain DVDs consistently; it appears to be
modern DVDs with many tracks. The first titleset is authored, and the
application crashes after the VOB
