I'm having the same problem, using a specific tool in paraview 3.8.1 software. I'm using 10.10 with 2.6.35-24-generic with the latest i915 driver. The problem occurs when using the slice tool in paraview and dragging the slice plane. Error 100% reproducible also with older Ubuntu releases/drivers
