Same problem here.
As mentioned by others, ifup/down it's not a real solution to restart
interfaces (all interfaces), and it's strange to not have a real error
message on stout.

The problem IMHO it's not if it will be default or not. It's the idea of
an upgraded release wallpaper made with 3 more dots. It sounds like a
joke.
Anyway, it's not a big problem, and of course it's not a bug. It's only
community FUD, but really interesting to understanding *how* this
relationshi

I solved by re-installing the proprietary binary from Ati (download from
site v. 10.4), and doing 3/4 times Aticonfig initialisation (" aticonfig
--initial -f").
I don't know why, but the "3 times" initialisation (it consist on

For me too neither of these steps, however, resulted in a *functioning*
3Ddriver (only 2D it's working).
Now i can install fglrx (after deleting ATI folders) from official
repos, but GLxinfo request fail:

I confirm it too in Jaunty 32bit, Opensource Ati driver.
I hope that if this program cannot start also in Jaunty, it will be
removed from the repository.
IMHO It's totally useless to maintain a faulty program in repository.
