I think this is in the wrong place, you meant indicator-messages. Nonetheless, I have to +1 this, because I am experiencing the same thing. The applet doesn't recognise the Evolution process, there is no little triangle next to "Mail", and the inbox entries are missing, just as if Evolution isn't
