before expo and scale plugins, which has been working for a while, will now
make compiz CRASH WITH SIGSEGV EVERYTIME I use the corner action which triggers

This bug still exist in 14.04. gksu-properties is well set.
The issue is unetbootin does not require a sudoer's password, but the
user's one. For example, synaptic package manager handles this properly.

Another workaround that may help find the reason of the bug :
in the non-resizable window, click on Settings, that will open "Software and
Updates" window.
After closing this window, the software updater window will be resizable.

In short, this issue is not fixed. Any fresh 14.04 installation with hot
corners enabled will have hot corners inactive once out of two
(approximately...). My hot corners are set to "Show desktops" on bottom
right, "Windows spread" on bottom left.

works too : open Unity Tweak Tool, and in Hot Corners, switch off and back on.
The hot corners works instantly.

Thanks for the fix, but Shotwell Viewer still does not appear in
"Properties>Open with" list. Only Shotwell is in the list, which cannot
actually open files, but just open the image library.

OK, sorry for the confusion, compiz 0.9.10 is due for Saucy. I did not
see it.
Anyone confirms that "On/Off" switch in Unity Tweak workarounds the
issue?
At least for me it works, and is much more convenient than re-log or
restart compiz...

If I well understood, the fix is provided in the dev ppa, as I still
have compiz 1:0.9.9 on my up-to-date 13.04.
But, if it can be useful before the fix is released for everyone, a quick
workaround is to open Unity Tweak Tool, Hotcorners tab, switch off Hotcorners
(with General button)

After some java tests, it does not change anything with oracle java or
open jdk, with 1.6.45, or 1.6.39. Does not seem to be the cause, also
according to the fact that Shotwell has no Java.

software I used is still stucked to Java 1.6, and I suspect the issue is solved
in 1.7.

New information: this is not only happening with maximized windows, but
also sometimes on small pop-ups (like dialog boxes or warnings). The
problem is one cannot click on buttons unless the window can be resized.

some area, a ballon tip is displayed. When the tooltip is displayed, the shadow
of a transparent top panel appears.
I have no problem with fullscreen Firefox, but I think this is related and

Notice that with the Bluetooth USB dongle shipped with the keyboard, the
"wrong" battery disappear and the keyboard is working fine.
