shares using my Mac though.

This would probably need to involve the metafiles. I am guessing if
somehow there is a way of listening for changes on the users'
file://.../Desktop.xml file see what the changes are and if it is newly
added then set a new position for the item. Followed by sending a
notification to Nautilus.

Downgrading to gvfs-0.2.5-r1 from 0.99.3 in Gentoo helped solve the
problem for me. Maybe a similar fix can be performed in Ubuntu.

I loaded up the visa_(smoked...) theme and tried to change the Frame Engine to
Zootreevs.
Then it crashes emerald. Since it crashed while the Emerald theme manager was
still running I can still change the frame engine and I can restart emerald at
that point.

When will you patch this bug in the official release? It is already
known for quite a time and a fix would be easily possible. This bug
already costed some errors that could have been avoided.
