Didn't have chance to try the suggestion from Omer before the official Ubuntu
11.04 release, downloaded and installed 11.04 today, Nvidia 173 driver was
installed by default, Unity 3D didn't run, reverted to recommended Nvidia
driver, Unity 3D didn't run, removed that also and installed

now, 3D experimental driver reports "activated and currently in use",

I had random boot delay issues, not sure if they're the same, my unit is up and
running in around 25 seconds. Used this fix, can't remember who posted it now,
but it worked a treat for me:
