I also have this problem on my Acer Aspire 1410.
Sometimes (less frequently) the screen will also flicker rapidly between
black, my background picture, and the expected display (open
applications etc).
Does this happen to anyone else?

I don't know if this is the same bug or if I should file it separately,
but when I download a .pptx file with firefox and tell it to "Open With"
LibreOffice Impress (so it saves it in /tmp and starts LibreOffice
automatically) the Nautilus menu appears in the menu bar and the
LibreOffice menus are
This happens to me when I unmount a DVD. An ext4 drive is also mounted
via usb.

Update Manager turns grays out all of the controls (as expected I
believe) when clicking "Install Updates." Nothing happens for a while
and then the apport window pops up. I can reproduce this (and do so
every time there are updates). 'apt-get upgrade all' works just fine.

This happens to me after quitting rhythmbox even if I'm not playing any
music files. Also, it doesn't disappear from the volume control after
quitting.

It just happened again but this time with dkms rather than sh

I had the same problem on my Acer Aspire 1410 (11.6" version), so I
tried mounting it manually (which didn't work). However, after trying
to mount in manually it started working automatically when I insert it.

When I tried it, vlc showed 12:25 for the total time of the original file and
1:13:32 for the one processed with ffmpeg2theora.
Totem showed 12:50 for both files.
When the original file was played in vlc it ran past 12:25 and showed
