emacs spins when ssh
You can start updating again now. They just had some packages out with
too high version numbers which wouldnt get easily updated anymore. Well,
they could have upped the epoch, but that would have been too much of a
change on all the "normal" packages.

Disappear titlebar and maximize, minimize
I had a similar issue - this was seemingly caused by api mismatch caused
by a wrong epoch on the libdrm package in edgers.
Follwing the instructions on https://launchpad.net/~xorg-
edgers/+archive/ppa fixed the issue for me:
All:
libdrm's epoch was accidentally bumped in this PPA, if you updated
A simple package rebuild fixes the problem for me:
apt-get build-dep bacula-console-qt #as root
apt-get source bacula-console-qt
cd bacula-xxx
dch -i
# enter some description
dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc -rfakeroot
cd ..

Hrrm. In my case that seems to be the session bus not the system bus, so
it might not be related (it looks like its leaking fd's somewhere
because during normal usage it just has 110fds open), new bug or similar
enough?

I see the issue as well - directly after startup. No accounts are
configured to automatically update -> Its not related to fetching email.

Does perhaps "dmesg" show gnome-settings-daemon crashing? (Happens here,
and also not easily catcheable by gdb)

Anything I can do for the issue? If it helps I can easily provide
debpatches for both, the intel driver and the kernel.
@mila: If I understand the issue correctly the latest Xorg driver also
requires a newer kernel for some cards (but not yours I *think*)

All that is needed to fix the driver is changeset
4dd00681dd0f9fce8dfd4592b46418edbbd2eeb4 out of the xf86-video-intel git
tree. Unfortunately this also requires the kernel fix to work
(82e14a6215cbc9804ecc35281e973c6c8ce22fe7 out of linus repository).

But the 2.6.24 kernel doesnt help me, does it? I think the problem is
cosmetic for -generic kernels as far as I read/understood the code, ie.
only relevant for xen kernels (and there is no -xen flavour of 2.6.24

patched - as far as I know the ati licence prohibits modifying any binary only
