I also get this bug:
If the mixer applet is set to "C-Media USB Headphone Set (Alsa Mixer)"
mixer_applet2 goes to 100% CPU after resume.

Steps to reproduce a situation for which this bug is still problematic:
1. add "cpufreq-selector -g powersave" to /etc/rc.local (instead of powersave
use your preferred governor)
2. reboot
3. watch governor be reset to ondemand about half a minute after login
4. change governor back to your prefe
I must agree with Chris

this is possible. then the shadow would obscure the adress bar of a browser,

how can a shadow be drawn on a window that i am c
Ubuntu ships with pulseaudio and at the same time does not offer any
(gui, at least) configuration tool to choose your sound card. This
affects any user who has more than one sound device.
The easiest solution at the moment seems to be the following:
-install pavucontrol
-go to the "Output Devices
same here, on my 1.7ghz laptop @1400x1050 pixels.
if someone wants it, here is my opinion:
-this animation is totally unnecessary
-this behavior is not consistent with the rest of the gnome desktop, kde and
vista have animated (fading) widgets, gnome has not, and that is a good thing,

it would be nice if i could configure notify-osd to display volume and

also, i think it is problematic to introduce this notification system
*without any desktop integration*. before this, almost *every* aspect of
the gnome desktop was easily and globally customizeable (icon theme, gtk

Not fixed. (for me?)
It takes half a minute after login to change from Performance to
Ondemand. That's the time i have to wait now to switch it to whatever
governor i prefer. Because if i set it to Powersave immediately after
login it gets switched back to Ondemand after that half minute.

The bug is still present in Kubuntu 9.04 Beta, and one more detail, i
don't know if it's important: Although the cursor image changes OK
before rebooting (as described), Dolphin File Manager keeps using the
Oxygen Cursor theme (also before rebooting). This does not happen with
the Redglass theme.

@Enryfox: Thanks, seems that the mirror I use received the updates later

I've now also installed the evolution update and have seen no further

What do you mean by 'hardy pre-release update'? Where did you get the

Thanks, a.

I can also confirm this bug in 8.04 final. I've already recreated my

loses connection to the exchange backend. I can especially confirm the
