I haven't been able to debug the problem yet, but I also have the quite
annoying problem with "compiz" randomly locking on 100% usage. Same as
thoughton.

I observed that unity and everything was working with the 173 driver
(not current) before updates aswell. Also, untill a couple weeks ago I
was able to use the nouveau driver, but this fails now aswell.
I'd like to refrain from updating the packages, but for me, it's like an
itch I can't scratch.
