Getting the same error, whether installing sun-java6-jre or sun-
java6-jdk.
I also tried with removing openjdk* first, but the same error appeared.

I am the original poster.
Today I could verify successfully that suspend-to-disk (hibernate) and
suspend-to-ram, both works fine again on my notebook!
Please note, I haven't been able to test the 8.10 ("Intrepid Ibex") pre-
releases yet, since this notebook is my production computer and I have
no

I wonder if a lack of free hard disk space is a potential reason for the
observed phenomena (freezing with no error message)? Maybe the upgrade from
6.10 to 7.04 has consumed some disk space reserv

Adding to my comment on 2007-04-19:
The file-server I mentioned is a Windows 2003 server. I use Kubuntu 6.10
with smb-client to access the particular directory on this server. The
user-account on the server is with-out password.

I confirm this bug on Kubuntu 6.10 (Edgy/32-bit) with latest OpenOffice
