Going back to default ubuntu firefox, that would be 3.5.8. I will not try this again and I won't be able to update on this bug report. However I was able to run firefox from terminal by command: /usr/bin/firefox-3.6/firefox so it must have been a linking issue but nevertheless it's lame not to have
