This bug should be marked high, I can't stand waiting 90+ minutes for
this to finish. I have a Pentium III machine and this well spoils my
ubuntu experience, I have to do sudo kilall scrollkeeper-update all the
time. Please remove this unwanted keeper away from ubuntu or we will

Thanks for your reply Cimmo,
I have the latest trunk, so I think the problem is related to the Flash plugin
itself, I didn't upgrade to the new plugin because I tried it and it was very
slow (I have an old machine).

If the mouse is hold on a flash animation keyboard and mouse scrolling stop
Still reproducible on the latest Firefox 3 trunk (built in Jan 10 2008)
with the flash plugin that shipped with gutsy (not the recently released
version)
Example site:
www.adslgate.com
The flash banner that is *under* the SpeedTouch ad still catches the mouse
scrolling.

I confirm this issue, happens with me quite frequently.
For example, if you're on a blog and that blog has many youtube videos, Firefox
will just die 80 to 100% CPU load (Even if *None* of those videos is played
or has been played)

ok. I am sorry about, but seriously, ubuntu gave Debian credit where it
was due to it. Debian is also composed of many upstream projects.so
not everything in Debian is their baby.
let's just wait and see whether sabdfl can give a word in this matter.

Then I guess we should rename ubuntu to be "ubuntu-is-based-on-Debian"

Also, since the first day I knew about ubuntu I knew it was based on
debian...why??? because ubuntu always included a link in the Firefox bookmarks
to debian.org with ("ubuntu is based on Debian") see the following link:

I Couldn't agree more with what Matthew East said on Lucas's blog :
"The front page doesn’t mention Linux, Gnome, Firefox or GNU either…
it’s perfectly normal - Ubuntu is currently being heavily marketed and
confusing Ubuntu’s target audience with multiple brand names is a really
bad idea.

I think it is a bug because when you enable CTL they will appear
just fine but when you want them to "disappear" tthe refuse to do so. It
will be the oposite of this bugFirst we couldn't add them...then we
couldn't remove them.
Hope for a fix soon.

It is present with herd5 , I am sure of that , Stephane and I were having the

And I don't think Stephane will fix this , I know himhe just works on

I am having the same problem in Feisty Fawn .
This bug prevents me entirely from working with openoffice.org since I
use Arabic which is a Right-to-left language.
The version is 2.2.0~rc3~oof680m10-0ubuntu3 , as Stéphane Graber said .
Hope this will be fixed before the final release.
