Note that, contrary to the original bug report, this isn't an armhf
issue but affects all platforms.
We used an external USB ethernet adapter to verify that that fix
outlined in #14 also resolves the same issue on Xenial Desktop AMD64.

The problem appears to be down to a syntax error - here's the fix we're
using as a patch against current systemd in Xenial:
Splitting the IMPORT and ENV/GOTO directives onto separate lines gets
things working.
With the patch deployed, the kernel parameter works as specified,
allowing us to access
#4: not fixed at all.

Original needs to be keyword argument, too, in order to be able to use

Rob Traders (rob-traderspit) in #15, your report looks like an unrelated
issue - perhaps file a new bug? This one was about apparmor network
policies with updated kernels and the issue has been verified fixed by
many users.

For the record this issue also affected networking in the community-
maintained* Raspberry Pi distribution of Ubuntu Trusty where "the 3.13
kernel has been replaced with an updated 3.18 kernel". They might want
to build an updated image once this makes it into the updates repo
tho
