Ever since Karmic, the 3G PPP connection gets DNS servers only 1 out of

I have two USB 3G modems from Huawei, one older one which behaved as
described above, but which I was unable to test since then, because it's
not with me. The second one is an E180 which behaved well before and
after the upgrade, the soonest I was able to test it being one day after
filing the bug

drive to /media/cdrom2.
/cdrom2 shows up in "Places" but upon accessing it, an error shows: "Unable to
