I have the same problem here; I spent a good few days trying to find
some way to turn off the internal speaker just to get around the issue -
except that there isn't a way to do it (even in the BIOS).
It would be nice if there was a global switch in "System > Preferences >
Sound" to turn this off.

The Icon Legend window is resizable but dragging it doesn't cause any
controls to reshuffle or move. It seems like a bit of a waste; the
dialog would probably be better if it were just fixed.
Repro:
- Start Synaptic Package Manager
- Open the "Help" menu
- Select "Icon Legend

- On Vista you have a "View" toolstip menu with "Small Icons", "Large Icons",
"Detail", etc...
- You can also right click the file area and there's a "View" menu on there as
well with the same options.
