Unfortunately, this is not reproducible. I tried everything to reproduce
it, tried to repeat all the actions in exact order, but nothing worked.
I'm sorry.

Thanks, Chris!
Since I have 8.10 I cant find out just how to pass boot params to the kernel :(
There is many more than 3 bug reports on this issue. As far as I understood,
the problem is that fglrx is having problems with SLUB-enabled kernels. With
this driver uninstalled, suspend/hybernate works
As I understand, this problem can't be solved normally. To use
hibernate/suspend feature I removed proprietary ATI driver. Now it
works, but video performance is pretty low.

Thank you for your reply!
Unfortunately, it still is in Ubuntu 8.10. It doesn't depend on Visual Effects
or something. I'm going to look at sources and maybe provide some additional
info.

Public bug reported:
First of all, great thanks for Ubuntu!
And again I have a problem with suspend/hibernate.
Box is Dell Inspiron 1521. Few months ago I installed Ubuntu 8.04 x64 on it.
Problem with suspend/hibernate was solved by installing proprietary Wi-Fi
driver. But now it doesn't help.

there is solution that worked on my Dell Inspiron 1521.
1. go to System/Administrating/Hardware Drivers and install Wireless firmware
2. gedit fstab and replace swap partition UUID with its device path. F.e.
#UUID=8cc76dfe-0a42-4948-b3aa-2830c11b6114 none swap sw 0 0
/dev/sda5 none swap sw 0 0

it with no errors. Although, there is
still necessary to pass "dma=off" option when booting from LiveCD (it wasn't
before).
I can't explain such behavior, but i'm ready to post any useful information
about installed software and hardware.
Thanks for reply,
