I had the same problem after I removed indicator-network, but I lost
wired connectivity afterwards. I reinstalled indicator-network and it's
working again. Now, I have the network manager applet right next to the
indicator-network appearing in my panel. Can I get my panel back to
normal?

I purged that program and deleted
"/usr/share/mime/packages/amazonmp3.xml" and "/usr/share/mime-
info/amazonmp3.keys" and "/usr/share/mime-info/amazonmp3.mime". I am
still unable to install banshee 1.7.3

I suggest using "Déjà Dup" for the backup application. It seems a little
more HIG than Simple Backup.

I have an iMac 9,1 with the same problem: no audio from internal
speakers or headphone jack. The solution did not fix my problem, and I
think you mean "/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf"
