I think that this gladish bug is caused by the same appmenu-gtk bug as #835166
For #835166 i was able to make a workaround. I can't implement submenu
population because gladish does not receive any signal.

python has search path where it looks for modules to be loaded. python
is usually installed in /usr but default of autotools is /usr/local and
unless there are other factors, zynjacku will not be able to load its
modules.
