cursor, and I found that copying its left_ptr and right_ptr files from
/usr/share/icons/whiteglass/cursors overtop of the corresponding ones in
/usr/share/icons/Breeze_Snow/cursors gave me back my whiteglass cursor,
at least for the
I upgraded from 22.04 to 24.04 and could no longer log in. Just
immediately got the sad computer face screen. Can confirm that
installing `breeze` fixed this. I don't really know what's going on but
it seems to provide a functional fallback for when the selected cursor

Hi, that is not me, my handle is same across bug reports. That
computer has a Cirrus Logic. Mine has TI.
For that model 6.7.9 is the kernel that broke support.
For me 6.7.9 is the last *working* kernel. Everything after it -

My bug symptoms are different as my PC successfully reaches a suspend
state. After additional testing, the PC will successfully resume about
50% of the time with the 6.8.0-31-generic kernel. Another side note,
when the PC sleep is initiated by the user, PC resume seems to fail more

I had again the issue on a other Xubuntu 22.04.4 computer (a desktop).
Here is how I fixed it:
From Gnome-software and from command line (sudo apt update && upgrade), the
same components were again not updated. So I typed this command line:
$ sudo apt upgrade python3-update-manager update-manager
** Summary changed:
- gnome-software unuable to install updates (Prepared update not found)
+ gnome-software unable to install updates ('Prepared update not found')

As a temporary workaround I have personally switch to a docker container
to do the job.
Ofc you must have docker installed and it is not the best option but it
works like a charm for me.
