Hi Steve,
What about the scenario where the signers are different for kernel and
grub? For example, if the kernel is signed using a self signed cert and
loaded using MOK.
I am trying to do that right now but the kernel fails to load when
signed with a MOK key.

Hi Jacob,
You appear to be installing old versions of PHP from Ondřej Surý's PPA,
and also installing both mysql and mariadb on the same system. For
Ubuntu 20.04, we support only PHP 7.4 with mysql 8.0. As you are
seeing, mixing mysql and mariadb can cause a lot of conflicts since the

Hey James! Since this feels like a security update, should we aim for
getting it released into -security as well? In that case we'd have to
inform the ubuntu-security team, build the packages in a security-
enabled PPA and only the binary-copy the packages into -proposed.

If I understand the work so far, this issue is only present in Bionic,
since later releases already have the release (and the subsequent fix)?
Sounds like the next action here would be to SRU the changes packaged in

What else need to be looked at?

This looks mostly ok but the merge doesn't seem to account for the
apport hooks being in debian now -- the changelog still lists it as a
difference, the package-hooks dir is in the .dirs files twice, and I
think they might be installed twice.

Hi Hiren and Martinus,
The Trisquel and Linux Mint distributions are not Ubuntu, so your bug
reports would be better directed to those distros rather than here. I
don't know why they would not provide /etc/os-release since that is
standard, and on cursory look it appears they do have the file:
