The playlist is nowhere to be found in Totem. Apparently it was
perceived being too complex by the Gnome guys.

It appears you have no sound or volume icon because your 'pulseaudio'
process is missing (probably crashed).
Please have a look in /var/crash for any relevant files. If you find one
upload it using this command:
ubuntu-bug /var/crash/YOURFILE.crash
