I'm not particularly familiar with ifupdown. The reentrancy is a red
flag for me. Is there an existing example of ifup being called from an
if-pre-up.d script?
I think it would be best to get a review from someone more familiar with
this area before upload.

About the reading in #20, it was the situation at that given time, not
after a reboot. Since the
/sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness was not 1500 (full
brightness after reboot) I obviously changed it.
The dynamic of what happens is shown in the "example" section of #23.

I got again the same bug problem even still on 4.11.0-041100rc8-generic.
It keeps failing even after a reboot. Again, I just changed root=UUID=...
to root=/dev/sda6 and the system booted nicely.
I'll attach a photo of the screen.
It looks like two dumpstacks (interrupt during panic?)
