I messed around with this for ages with no luck on my Dell XPS 13 9350.
It seemed to even screw up the bluetooth when I rebooted back into

Both solutions worked for me on Xenial 64, but the last one gave me menu

screens/apps are now closed. This is a bit annoying as I need to open

have no connectivity (or available networks), I am actually connected.
