It also feels like the Unity8 window switcher is getting in the way.
Particularly when switching into the web browser, it takes half a second
or so to finish the app switch after the animation apparently completes.
You can notice this just slightly as a flicker of shadow (from the app

I'm trying to use the "External tools" to open a terminal in the
Document's current directory and it open at Home
To reproduce this bug enable the External tools and go to the Tools
menu. There's a second menu form there called "External tools", click on
"Open terminal here"

When I boot from a 3.13.0.x kernel I get a very odd 900 second (15
minute!) pause on boot (see attached dmesg log). Once past the pause
the system works normally and with no issues. If I boot from a 3.2.0.x
kernel there is no pause.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we have been unable to reproduce the error
after following the steps provided. We were able to start and run
FreeMind without errors multiple times. Also, there are no reports of
similar instabilities
