I'll report the same or similar problem on my Lenovo Thinkpad P540P
using 14.04. New kernel 3.13.0-48 broke my USB mouse and my Wifi
Connectivity. Keyboard still worked though, but I am using an internal
laptop keyboard rather than USB one. Reverting to 3.13.0-46 "solved"
these problems.

This has been happening on 3 different Vivid installs and 2 different
flavors vanilla Ubuntu and Ubuntu Mate. It happens every time a new

I have to retract my statement. I'm using a Lenovo x220.
Disabling "PCI Express Power management" (Config -> Power) via Bios resolves
the issue for me. Before Ubuntu became unresponsive (like the card is throwing
a lot of interrupts) after the *2nd* hot-plug, first one seems fine though. On

After rebooting and autoremoving the 2nd oldest kernel the
/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/01autoremove-kernels file reverts to listing the
3.19.0-11-generic and 3.19.0-12-generic kernels. So only one kernel, the
latest 3.19.0-12-generic is left.

The workaround to keep the latest two kernels is to edit the
/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/01autoremove-kernels file and change it to list the
latest 2 kernels.

Thank you for taking the time to report this crash and helping to make
this software better. This particular crash has already been reported
and is a duplicate of bug #1283681, so is being marked as such.
This bug makes GIMP almost unusable. I need to keep several of their
dockable menus rolled up but available on demand rather than have them
interfere with window real estate.
