I've got similar problem on Xubuntu 14.10 when using Chromium: click on
magnet link opens Firefox window which (correctly) opens torrent client

I'm one of the developers of Xiphos, and if this can be merged into
15.04, that would be great for users because there are a few fixes to
make Xiphos run better with GTK 3.14. The main one is the preferences
would not open in Xiphos 3.2.2 on a system with GTK 3.14. Xiphos 4.0.0
fixed that.
The only way to solve this problem is install "pcmanfm" and run:
xdg-mime default pcmanfm.desktop inode/directory
This solution worked for me, because I have my main folders as .desktop
entries in the Unity dash.

evnice, similar to firefox and issuing

Thank you for requesting this update. Vivid is currently in feature
freeze right now (see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FeatureFreeze), there is
an exception process though (see

aa-complain clamd needs to be done at every startup, otherwise clamd would not
start.
No /var/log/audit/audit.log

Hi Seth,
I have my home under /home/, it is just on a different partition. I face
the same issue with evince.
Executing sudo dpkg-reconfigure apparmor does not solve the problem for
me. I passed /home/ and /home// but it doesn't work. Any
suggestions?

this is a major annoyance on Kubuntu 15.04
nvidia-prime comes with lightdm which in turns brings lots of GTK deps
and brakes SDDM
might be nvidia-prime itself that brakes SDDM actually
I had to switch back to nouveau driver, under which I can't play steam,
but at least I have a working desktop

Some further findings: The recent language settings tool "Settings ->
Region and Language" is quite new.
WORKAROUND
The old version was called "Settings -> Language Support" and can be
installed via the package "language-selector-gnome":
