"dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc" showed many default values, incl. /dev/sda1.
But i do not have any sort of dualboot (never had), so i changed this to
/dev/sda and now it works again.
After upgrade to 14.04 ubuntu decided to grub-install on /dev/sda1 (my
root partition) instead of sda?

i've never contributed to any bug reports, but fwiw, i'm running 14.04
as well, and had a similar issue with my asus p8z77-i deluxe mini itx
motherboard with a broadcom bcm43228 chipset. upon installing ubuntu
13.10 OR 14.04, the wifi drivers aren't detected or installed. i can see
the chip via ls
The attached patch moves the cutoff to <=0x22f for MODEL_APPLETOUCH and
>=0x230 for MODEL_UNIBODY_MACBOOK.

libquvi (another dependency) was compiled. Without this, there there would
effectively be linking against two versions of lua, causing symbol clash.

Aweek after the original post I have found that the app in the panel
is always turned off when either the computer is turned off or just put
in hibernation. Sometimes by opening that app and going to the actual
