I considered updating the BIOS but couldn't see the point as this only
became a problem after upgrading to Ubuntu 13.04. Previous versions of
Ubuntu were fine. Also there is no mention of a problem with the fan
coming out of standby on the revision history.

This affects me in not being able to open multiple instances of pd-
extended on a netbook. The programs I'm running are very processor
intensive and need to take better advantage of the multiple cpu cores.
