The work around is to revert back to a previous version, as said Christopher.
In my case:
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel=2:2.21.6-0ubuntu4
If you want to keep mir: "=2.21.9+xmir5870-0~saucy1"
And I removed the mir ppa:
sudo rm -i /etc/apt/sources.list.d/*mir*
sudo apt-get update;

Unfortunately the issue was due to old hardware. I believe the CPU was
faulty and it caused lot of problem with booting. Even after booting,
the system fails unexpectedly.
I upgraded my hardware recently and didn't have any problem after that.
So, we can mark this as resolved for now.

as a test case, eclipse just ramdomly crash with this report. Somethimes
it stick grayed (freeze) and I just force quit and reluch. I also add a
-clean parameters in the first line of eclipse.ini

Sorry if it took a while to test this. The server where this is
installed doesn't have a screen usually, and ssh-ing in doesn't work
very well to test stuff in single-user mode. I can now confirm that the
fix works for me.

leagcy front audio panel is AC97 AUDIO PANEL without Jack detection
you have to disable it to use HDA front audio panel with Jack detection
the rear panel jacks are auto muted when you plugged the headphone by
the driver
