I have a similar problem which maybe related.
The machine was less than 2 weeks old when it failed last week.
Turned off fast boot, Installed Ubuntu 12.10 and all working well with minor
compatibility issues.
Loaded applications from previous machine and did all updates with no problems.

It's not an arbitrary limit. We don't upgrade builder hardware every
year, and in many cases there are multiple virtual builders on each
physical machine, so they have limited amounts of RAM. Other vast
packages in Ubuntu have no problem with this.
Requiring more than 4GiB of virtual memory to lin
So after a couple of kernel upgrades, I'm back to no audio at all.
I was getting kind of excited after the last post, because at least the drivers
were being picked up. After a few reboots, they were still being picked up which
was awesome.
The downside was that no audio was actually going throug
I also upgraded my Xubuntu (XFCE) from 12.04 to 12.10 and hit this
issue. Makes the indicator pretty much unusable.

since these packages failed to install and configure, i cannot terminal
correctly keeps showing dbdrivers error... wtf???

I believe I may be seeing this exact behavior, however it is not clear
by your description. My battery will report a proper charge, then
randomly drop down the 10 or less percent. This has happened on a
MacBook Pro 8,2 and 2,1. Has to have something to do with how ubuntu
deals with the hardware.
Patch for lazygal has been emailed privately to it's maintainer.
