upstream. And the only activity here seems to be in kernel 2.6, so I

Fred, could you please get a stack trace from gtk-window-decorator?

@Amir Thanks Amir, that worked for me as well.
However, we all agree that a fresh install of Ubuntu should "just work",
so this bug remains a problem and is harmful to Ubuntu's reputation
among new users.
