Like others, I get this crash when I try to install the fglrx driver
with post-release updates (whatever that means). I can install the
fglrx driver without these post-release updates, though. With that
fglrx driver installed, I get this:

up etc... On one of my machines the disk is loud enough to be clearly
noticeable.
Then I used "smartctl -A /dev/sda" to check the "(4) Start_Stop_Count"
raw value over time, that's the HD's number of starts/stops in its

left-to-right desktop. Right-to-left text shouldn't be mirrored in the literal
sense. However, we do need to mirror its alignment, i.e: right-aligned instead
of left-aligned.

The issue was lightdm was calling initgroups after pam_setcred had been
called - thus any group changes in pam_setcred were not retained. This
is fixed in lightdm 1.1.9.

this software better. This particular crash has already been reported
and is a duplicate of bug #959720, so is being marked as such. Ple
I'm having exactly these symptoms on kubuntu 11.10 with a wireless mouse
(logitech m215) on an eMachines em350 netbook. I've also tried
restarting kdm, and rmmod/modprobing usbhid and psmouse. Nothing works,
that I can see, except a reboot.
Please let me know if I can provide any more debugging in
Confirmed based on number of duplicates and "affects me"s.
