Thank you so much for attending so promptly to my LibreOffice problem.
I'm sorry I could not provide a good/(pre-error)/ version of the file
because I had deleted it. As such, I could not replicate the error. Then
I thought I could use the backup copy but discovered my backup
I wasn't actually talking about the indicators, I was talking about the
dash icons. Anyway this was a bug and is now fixed in oneiric.

It would appear you are correct. Further tests proved the hard drive is
faulty. All in order now that a new hard drive has been installed.
For the record, memory is fine and system self-diagnostics reported no
fault apart from the hard drive (S.M.A.R.T Hard drive failure immenent)
Here’s a debdiff with the patch from Fedora. I’m testing it in my PPA;
I’ll post the results once it builds.

Maverick.

freezes (perhaps a half-dozen times just today) it still seems to be the
best RDP client I've tried on Ubuntu - doesn't limit you to 1400x1050

I have an Asus N61J laptop with Ubuntu 11.10 64 bits installed (upgraded
from 11.04).
It halts on shutdown and reboot, most of the time (but not all the
time). The shutdown command does not help either.

I forgot to mention, I am running a 64 bit version of Ubuntu.
Also the shutdown command in the terminal is not helping much, same
behavior tends to happen.

The -f switch makes rdesktop for full-screen. When your computer

The more my CPU is used the slower it gets. If I'm running rather
intense processes then the animations will slooowly (but
accurately!) perform. So it is nice and smooth, just slower as the
computer becomes more active.

I am also trying to get a two seat setup working. The first seat is on
the primary graphics card which is the internal Intel card for a core i5
2400. The second seat is on a Radeon HD 5450 (PCI-Express).

I'm glad you managed to update your BIOS successfully. However, this is a
risky procedure and shouldn't be necessary.
In any event, although it solves your problem, you haven't actually cured
the bug - merely ensured that it no longer affects your computer.
