Oh, hang on, I think I thought about this all wrong. "en_GB" *is* a
correct value, but not for $LANG, but for $LANGUAGE; What you select in
control-center is a language, _not_ a locale. So lightdm should not
assing the "Language" accountsservice property to $LANG, which is what
is causing all this
Wonky hardware makes a compelling case for monitor switching to be the
default behavior.
It does not present a compelling case for making this behavior non-
configurable. This is especially the case since this exact shortcut is
obviously used by quite a few users.

I've seen this before. I think it is some kind of problem where the
logged in user does not get access to the sound card. It can resolve
itself, sometimes by just rebooting or by switching from LightDM to gdm.
Any insight on finding the cause for this error will be appreciated as I
can't replicate

It looks like it all works fine from looking at your log, I can't see
anything that is completely wrong, except possibly for the line added in
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf:
options snd-hda-intel model=ref
This line is not there on a standard Ubuntu install - will removing it
and reboot

server many times over. The bug hit periodically, but when it did it

Hi,
Given that we are very near from the release of Oneiric, why is this merge
required? According to the changelog, it doesn't seem to bring anything to
Ubuntu.
I would recommend to wait until the P-Series opens for development to upload it.
