Hey there,
I want to reopen this bug, since I still have this issue with randr and
the fglrx driver on my new natty installation.
I'm on ubuntu 11.04
and have tried with the newest fglrx-installer (2:8.840-0ubuntu4).

Changing nvidia driver does not help at all.
This is clearly not an nvidia-graphics-drivers but a regression in the linux
kernel or kernel options.

Even supposedly 3-button mice need the emulation. The typical generic
ones detect the middle mouse by a click on the scroll wheel. Usually
this is very clumsy, making the emulation much easier to use.

Run this:
sudo software-properties-gtk
Make sure everything is checked to be on. (Except source code and CDROM
if you dont want.)
If the 4 boxes are checked then try this; In the drop down menu by
"Download From", choose another server. Try one in the US for example.
Then try the upgrade again
