I have installed the latest kernel as asked, however, I am now having
freezing issues. If I walk away from my laptop for any given amount of
time, I return to an unresponsive desktop. The only thing that isn't
froze is the mouse. Hotkeys do not work. I can not even open a menu.

Popping the card back into a happily installed system results in a
freeze somewhere just after the Radeon drm initializes and:
