Today, I am still having trouble. I am still getting spinners and it seems that
changes are happening but that the
windows are not being updated. I have had a couple of cases where nautilus has

hibernate on pretty much every shipped box, and because the kernel team
said that they get tons of bug reports with it.

Did you install it by hand? The upgrade process totally destroyed my
graphics (for some laughs). I tried installing fglrx using aptitude,
which gave working but crappy graphics. Prior to that it was
conflicting. However, it had not installed the full driver, and using
the additional drivers GUI fix

The X server video ABI isn't *terribly* fragile. The ABI change patches
that I've done have been relatively simple affairs, and this will have
the advantage that I could actually test it!
I expect the ABI maintenance to be an annoying, but supportable, cost.

There are no particular major gotchas, although there's no clean way
today to handle -dev packages for libraries in /lib. It's more that
moving all of these files to /lib requires touching lots of packages,
will take some time to finish, *and* is not a complete solution because
gssd still needs to

Whenever I turn on the wwwoffle proxy in Firefox, maps.google.com stops
to work correctly. The map tiles won't download correctly, showing a
message "no maps at this resolution" irrespective of the resolution

I have the same issue, Ubuntu 10.10, latest updates, fast quad core machine
with SSD.
By setting File-->Work Offline in Evolution, the problem went away.
I wasted half an hour researching and figuing out what to do.
I didn't have offline selected because I didn't want it selected, but that time
