the Linux kernel got around separating LED handling from the keyboard

When it installs, ubuntu runs the b43 firmware tool (required to work

There was one time when I started installing, and as soon as I got to
the point where I could click "Install", Ubiquity crashed with this same
bug. I assume it's an issue that certainly needs to be fixed in time for
Lucid's final release, considering it is potentially fatal.

I have karmic on my PC. Recently i have noted that the system timer
often lags behind when i restart my PC. I often reset it, using the time
preferences, but it again behaves similarly. Can someone suggest a
remedy?

greyscale icons will cause the monochrome icons to be displayed in the apps.

I can get the camera to work in cheese, however, after a few seconds,
the captured image turns very dark. I tried some module parameters like
autoexposure=0 , but that didn't seem to help.

After browsing through the log briefly, it appeared to me that usplash
was the main cause of the breakage.
I manually removed usplash before starting the upgrade and it's now
fetching packages and chugging along.
