Hi Luke
Sorry, but could you elaborate a bit ? What does having PSU enabled mean
in this context ? Where would I check for that ? I am not a total newbie
in Linux, but this is my first laptop and first double processor.
I am running on a core 2 laptop (Ubuntu sees 2 CPUs as per the system

That pulled grub onto your system, and it shouldn't be there.
So whoever is operating the ppa that you pulled this vserver package
from needs to update their kernel packaging to be current with the
official Ubuntu 9.1

This is reproducible. Remove the notification area from the top panel
then re-add it and the icons are restored to normal. Reboot and the
error often comes back.
I do not think it is related to video drivers as I see it on two systems
right now, one laptop with Intel video, desktop with nvidia - b
