the error message is gone. However the boot process is still stucked and

The system in question, along with several others, was recently
decommissioned and cannot be brought back online. (Honestly, we don't
even know which physical machine it was.)
This bug was trivially reproducible at the time that the report was
filed, but I no longer have the means of doing so.

The gstreamer0.10-schroedinger package was recently dropped from
schroedinger source with the rationale that gst-plugins-bad0.10 now
provides it, but this is not true of the version we currently have in
karmic; we need the new upstream version from Debian unstable for this.
I'm therefore requesting
Confirmed, Panasonic CF-T2. Calibration works after restarting X, but
isn't used on the next boot. Running
sudo service xserver-xorg-input-evtouch start
sudo service gdm restart
applies the calibration. This service should be started at boot but
isn't?

Aha #2! I found this in /var/log/messages

No such file or directory
Not sure if the first line is normal or not, but the 2nd one sounds
ominous.
i hope the xorg.0 logs with error are one of these...
In the next post i install xserver-xorg-wacom package to be able to
reproduce X startup errors.

I think there are 2 things going on here-my problem has been solved by
recent updates to Mesa, etc as I have come to the conclusion that it was
an openGL problem.
