The fix seems to be working for me. Although i have experienced being
kicked out to the gdm screen a few times - for some reason this only
happens when the computer is on AC power. Another time i noticed that it
happened after suspending by closing the lid.

1. you can monitor your fan speed from the thinkpad-acpi module: cat
/proc/acpi/ibm/fan
2. you can adjust the fan speed to stay on at full speed by executing the
following command as root: echo level disengaged /proc/acpi/ibm/fan
One I did that, the fan kicked up to 40

apparently, i did not quite remove all the modules. even tho the nvidia
driver compiles the kernel module, apparently it doesn't get used unless
the other modules are removed. running 'apt-get remove --purge nvidia*'

1) Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope

3) Screensavers starts and runs normally, can be quited from.
4) Screensaver starts up and freezes the system completely. Needed to do a
reset.
The specific screensaver I am getting this problem
I'm having the same issue. Logging out and in seems to fix it, but it's
a pain.

I think that's a known bug elsewhere; I know I've had problems with that

why are you in a hurry to close bugs which are discussed on the ubuntu forums:
they do not disappeared by "magie".
Users are in pain with problems of misconfigurations in
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf .
We experienced the same bug on french forum with MD 96880.

It is a harmless warning and can be ignored.
The other issues you reported
I updated to Jaunty and have somewhat similar problem with flash-videos
on both Epiphany and Firefox. Normal Youtube videos show just fine, but
when "Watch in High Quality" is chosen the video just goes black.
