I may be way off here, but have you tried reverting the Xorg intel
driver in jaunty? You can try it on the live cd so that you dont have to
reinstall twice if it doesnt work. I had the same problem and fixed it
on the liveCD first to make sure that it would be usable before i went
ahead and did a f

I also recompiled the wpa_supplicant recently in the way described by
Christof and gersonvb and the patch worked out of the box. You should
submit it in order to integrate the fix into the wpa_supplicant source
code. Seems like old kernel version have been more forgiving about this

I have a firewire removable chassis that worked just fine up until 9.04.
Afterwards it does not appear anywhere in the system. modules seem to
be loaded but I can plug/unplug the drive in and out of the system and
nothing appears. External USB drives work fine as do 32Gb USB memory
sticks.

Yes, I have already tested building several major apps (like VLC,

It doesn't really look like this new Debian version contains any
significant changes. This can be seen clearly in the Ubuntu->Ubuntu
debdiff. I personally would recommend waiting to merge until the next
debian/upstream release. In the meantime, you can file a bug on the BTS
to try and reduce the Ub

I can also confirm this error is returned on my eeePC 900, however X
does not crash - but Totem closes when attempting to play video, with
the same terminal output.

The bug happened to me as well on Jaunty which I have upgraded today.
The "setxkbmap" worked fine for me.
This happened on a 64bits operating system, VMware workstation 6.5.0,
and it had never occured to me on intrepid. After using the "setxkbmap"
