I just got an update of the 2.6.27-11-generic kernel and my webcam is no
longer working. I don't think it can even detect the webcam anymore. Cheese
fails to load and skype cannot see my webcam now. This has happened only
recently when the update for version 11 of the kernel came up.

If I use fusion-icon to switch to metacity as WM, even temporarily, then

I don't see any difference in behaviour. Although I have to say, I
don't see a crash anyway. Just the fus applet behaving strangely both
in 2.24.0-0ubuntu6 and 2.24.0-0ubuntu6.1 versions (it becomes a kind of
combined "pidgin-status/switcher" applet. I don't think that is
intended behaviour.).
I'm with Geir Ove Myhr. The committed fix takes me from 3 to 2 cycles
(bravo, Steve!) but that's still one too many.

When I upgraded to 8.10, applications using Crystal Space failed to make sound.
The sndtest application segfaulted very early. After installing 8.10 on my new
desktop, the same error occured. It is urgent I find a way to make sound as I
have a development plan to stick to a
DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS is supposed to be set from outside the package, not
from debian/rules. Just delete the four lines that add --enable-
openbsd-malloc to CONF_OPTIONS instead.

This BUG are AGAIN here with the kernel "2.6.28.2".
Was fixed in kernel "2.6.28"; i think that stay fixed in "2.6.28.1"; but i have
the same issue in "2.6.28.2".

I can confirm this. Same machine, same architecture, same kernel and
such.
I've manage to get my system working again by booting into a live usb
and chrooting into my system to install linux-
image-2.6.24-23-generic_2.6.24-23.46_i386.deb, my previous kernel.

well kernal 11 seems to have brought it back after it ran for awhile, I
