Are you running the latest Hardy kernel, i.e. 2.6.24-18? I have not
managed to reproduce this issue since I upgraded. It's intermittent
though, so I'm not sure it's actually fixed...

I would test any proposed solutions / new kernel versions as time and
connectivity permit. Detailed download/install/test/report instructions
would make it easier for me, as I'm still quite new at this. Thanks to
everyone who is working on fixing this issue.

When you are installing from a media (namely the dvd, but I guess that would be
worst for the cdrom) you should get from there everything you need to

I am using bash-completion 20060301-3ubuntu3 in Hardy. It would be nice
if it recognized that gksudo should be followed by a command name, as it
does for sudo. For example if I type:
