I have installed lilo into de MBR and the problem persists. I have realized
that CDRW unit is not in my Windows Partition also !!! But CD unit was there

I installed xserver-glx and now xine -V xv doesn't crash anymore. However, the
colors are smeared, almost like a double image. Unwatchable.
Also, -V opengl appears to work fine, but the colors are subtly wrong.

I created the attached file as /etc/X11/Xsession.d/51pulseaudio-esd (i just
chose a number before the 55 of the .gnomerc so it could be easily overwritten

If you'd like to try blacklisting the sonypi module you just need to add
it to /etc/modprove.d/blacklist . However, I've seen issues with the
sonypi module that you also will have to comment out the line "modprobe
sonypi" in /etc/init.d/hotkey-setup. Let us know if this helps.

in Feisty then abruptly stopped in Gutsy. I just removed
/etc/udev/rules.d/65-dmsetup.rules, rebooted and encrypted removable

upgrade from Feisty to Gutsy?

Okay, wrong. it WAS working until I rebooted, then the error asking to
delete the applet from the panel appeared and the applet became
invisible. so much for that. (should have known). Will try to get some
debugging info shortly

1. Start gwenview manually using "gwenview --nocrashhandler"
2. Trigger the crash
3. Look into /var/crash
4. Is there a file starting with "_usr_bin_gwenview"? If so, start

I'm using Gutsy as well, I only noticed it was apport because I had the
system monitor applet up for unrelated reasons.
The crash today seemed to be nearly identical to the other crashes I've
been getting every day or so since upgrading to Gutsy. Firefox becomes
unresponsive, the cpu maxes out,
I can also confirm this on a fresh install with a NVIDIA 6600GT
