The brightness keys in my vostro 1000 and Ubuntu 7.10 are completely
dead. Before upgrading they keys behaviour was vey weird.

That setting does indeed seem to work better, in that my focus is no
longer stolen all the time. In fact, I rather think it should be the
default setting, but if the metacity maintainer in Ubuntu disagrees,

changed the Sound Preferences and Volume Applet settings to make my
media keys and the volume applet both control PCM instead of Master
Volume.

I had the same issue and fixed it by installing a more recent version
(8.40.4) of the fglrx driver manually as desribed here:

xvinfo runs without errors and xine/kaffeine are playing back
The problem still exists in the new 2.0.0.8 release for gutsy. I deleted
my ~/.mozilla directory and only installed the google toolbar in the new
configuration. As soon as I open a third window firefox freezes. With
the 2.0.0.8 version from mozilla.com everythings works fine.

With this version Tilda crashes just after first run. Only if I remove
configuration (~/.tilda) then Tilda's configuration window appears, but after
that, again, no Tilda window and even no process.

I had a quick look and I believe it's a different bug. The bug here is:
1) About the snd-hda-intel module
2) The module does not load at all (even when using modprobe explicitly) due to
missing symbols
3) As far as I understand, it's specific to x86-64

so setting MODULES="ohci_hcd ehci_hcd" in /etc/default/acpi-support

When installing an Extension via the Add/Remove Extensions app it is
flagged by Firefox as unremovable and the Add/Remove Extensions app
provides no uninstall method. The only way to remove any Extension
installed in this way is through the Gnome Menu Add/Remove... option.

I have two new Installation of Gutsy. One PC has no internal NTFS Disc the
other one has one internal NTFS Dics.
If I connect an external NTFS Disc to the PC with no internal NTFS Disc it can
not mount the external NTFS Disc and reportet an Error:

When I use adept notifier, it keeps on telling me that I can upgrade to
7.10, but I'm already at 7.10. So the update fails.
It started right after I clean installed gutsy.
